With 8B, once you have sorted out the numbers, you can arrange the numbers in pairs and rather than hill climb a Polybius, actually solve it as a substitution cipher; it can help to convert the number pairs to letters. Obviously, this trick is to have the numbers correct first! For this maybe it might help to Google Polybius square and have a look at the different methods mentioned. Maybe one of those might help??
