National Cipher Challenge 2019 › Forums › National Cipher Challenge 2019: Countdown to Catastrophe › 7B Transposition Key
Any hints to help find the transposition key which aren’t uselessly vague. I’m really struggling.
Are you sure it is a transposition? Take a good hard look at the shape of the text. Does that suggest anything?
Will there be a clue to the other type of cipher for part b later?
Quite a few hints, tips and clues to 7B scattered around the forum now! Good luck.
Harry I’m stumped any last minute hints before the end of challenge 7b?
The text is laid out in a square because it is intended to be read by columns not by rows. (The first letter of each sentence in the last paragraph of 7A spells COLUMNs) After that you need to work on the substitution cipher, which is polyalphabetic. Hope that helps,
