… about our sponsors
We have been extremely fortunate across the years to have had the support of a number of people and organisations. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the current crop for their efforts to promote mathematics and computer science, both here and in their other outreach activities.
These generous organisations fund the website, the posters, the prize-giving event and the medals and prizes and without them the competition could never have grown as much as it has.
Want to learn more about the secret world of real-life spies and codebreakers? These are the experts, and our longtime friends and partners. They were one of the original sponsors of the competition, supporting the Turing Prize in honour of one of their most famous former employees!
Trinity College has been at the forefront of mathematical discovery since Isaac Newton was the Master (as in, the Master of College, not a reference to an obscure 1970’s episode of Dr Who). They have been our partners in the competition for over 20 years!
EPSRC were one of the original sponsors of the competition, and we are delighted that to work with them to promote maths. They fund a huge amount of research across maths and computing (alongside many other things) and are keen to encourage the next generation of scientists in their quest to keep Britain at the leading edge of discovery.
The Blue Spark Foundation sponsor a whole range of activities designed to help young people realise their ambitions and reach their potential. They have been sponsoring the National Cipher Challenge prizegiving for a number of years, and this year have kindly offered to sponsor a new prize. We are delighted to continue our collaboration, and look forward to seeing them, and all our other sponsors, at the event in February.
To anyone as old as Harry, Northrop Grumman are best known as the team that built the Lunar Module for the Apollo flights. They successfully landed 6 crews on the lunar surface and returned them to the safety of the Command Module after their missions. Even more impressively their engineers worked with NASA to bring back the crew of the doomed Apollo 13 mission, saving them from an awful death. Now NG are embarking on a new adventure, providing world class cyber security services.
!0 Degrees have worked with Harry on the competition website since 2017, and have never stopped improving it. They work tirelessly to build and manage the site and to keep it secure, and they have a real passion for accessibility. They are a great example of what can be achieved when you combine that passion with knowledge, patience and understanding.
