while waiting for the release of the leaderboard. Only 85 years ago today, the team at Bletchley Park made their first break of an Enigma message. It wasn’t the start of the journey (the Polish team Marian Rejewski, Jerzy Różycki, and Henryk Zygalski were the pioneers) but it was a major step forward and proof of concept. Those of you who cracked one of our challenges this year know what a buzz you get when you first see the message emerge. Imagine how the GC&CS cryptographers must have felt, knowing what a difference this was going to make!
