The National Cipher Challenge

Welcome…

… to the 24th National Cipher Challenge – A Tale of 2 Secrets. It takes place 16 years after the events of last year’s story and Kate Warne has returned to the US to work with the Pinkerton’s Detective Agency. Charles Dickens is an internationally renowned author and social campaigner and is contemplating visiting the US for a second time to promote his work. When he first started planning his trip he had no idea that it would become the centre of an international intrigue …

The first thing you need to do is register an account so you can take part and ask questions on the forum. It costs NOTHING to take part, and we have a range of prizes of up to £1,000 for the best codebreakers. The top 200 participants will be invited to Bletchley Park to receive their medals in the spring and all participants can download certificates to record their achievements. If you are unsure about anything check out our How To links above.

There is an active community of cipher challenge alumni and forum moderators (the Elves) on the forum who are waiting to help. Harry or Jodie might even reply themselves, so head over and get involved.

It is great to welcome you to the National Cipher Challenge family for this year’s edition of the competition. Have fun!
