@Harry as a reply, this post is intentionally left blank ( like my mind ) [ both a contradiction! ]
20th December 2025 at 6:38 pm #114662Crackerjack_404ParticipantImportant question- does the exclamation mark make it more true, or does it invert the truth value? And do we assume Harry is a knight or a knave?
20th December 2025 at 6:39 pm #114670MI4Participantlol that was posted almost directly after the challenge came out but it took ages to moderate we know what it actually is now
It didn’t take ages to moderate, it took ages to appear! We are delaying posts which discuss live challenges. If you want the original submission date to show in a potentially delayed post do feel free to put the date and time at the top of it so others will see when you wrote it. Harry
20th December 2025 at 6:39 pm #114659error695ParticipantUnfortunately I do not have the luxury of time on any more ciphers as I have to revise for a test which I cannot really fail in 4 days (yes like 2 days before Christmas)so see you all after a while 🥲
Wise move; good luck with the test. Harry
20th December 2025 at 6:41 pm #114672LW_8S_31ParticipantUsing my interpretation… same? But of course, I don’t know what you are thinking off but I’ve definitely found some stuff that could help.
20th December 2025 at 6:48 pm #114674ILLParticipantWhere are you getting Morse Code from this!? I have identified the format of the cipher text ages ago, but there is a parity within the text that is throwing me off. I know the first step isn’t simple substitution [Block that if you want Harry]
no need, you are all experienced enough now to work that much out! Harry
but for the life of me I can not work out what else it could be. I know it has something to do with the format the cipher text is in, but at the same time I know nothing as to why.
Worst part is, I already know what the first 10B hint will be, so they aren’t going to be helpful until Tuesday at the soonest.
But yeah, explain to me how you are getting Morse Code???
20th December 2025 at 6:49 pm #114677joelle_mullyringParticipantThis is my first time doing the challenge- I’m having so much fun (i think) . Is all the information you need to solve the cipher on the page, or can you peruse the rest of the website for more hints and clues.
You should definitely peruse the rest of the site. Clues for Challenge 10B will all be in the Case Files, but you might find other useful info in the Library. Harry
20th December 2025 at 6:49 pm #114680LW_8S_31Participant@Crackerjack_404 Have you done it yet?
We won’t post ANY info about whether anyone has cracked 10B until the end of the challenge! Harry
20th December 2025 at 6:50 pm #114681SofiaDCParticipantHarry… where are the promised Case Files?? 😨
So sorry about the delay, explanations have been given, but here is another apology. The first hint is published now. Harry
20th December 2025 at 6:54 pm #114688decrypting_donkeyParticipantOk ive got a few things to say. first damn @Crackerjack_404 that was a striking essay ill make sure to study it. second thing is, @TJ_101, stop banging your keyboard ive got enough of a headache already. third thing is, if youre stuck, the simplest things reveal the most unique patterns… and also idk if this there are patterns that we were intended to find, but if not, from simple things ive found a network of crazy, crazy coincidences. final thing is harry ive got a new catchphrase for you: merry sleepless christmas
Love it! Merry Sleepless Christmas to you too! [But thinking about it, maybe do sleep! It is important and I think Crackerjack_404 would agree!] Harry
20th December 2025 at 6:56 pm #114700SylveonParticipantHarry, do you want us to fight?😉😉
Never! BOSS is a considerate organisation which believes in supporting the welfare of its members and in the power of collaboration! Harry
20th December 2025 at 6:59 pm #114706philipph317ParticipantI think my hint is being delayed for a reason!
Everything we do is for a reason. Unless it isn’t, like the delay with Casefile 10.1. And thinking about it, even that was for a reason. We had the wrong date to prevent accidentally posting the hint too early while we were still editing it and then forgot to reset the date once it was finished, so I return to my earlier point: everything we do is for a reason. But perhaps not always for a good reason! Harry
20th December 2025 at 9:20 pm #114712S_D_10BrParticipantI’m not sure whether to kudos Harry or hate him for this challenge. We worked on it for 7 hours straight for minimal breakthroughs and to basically rule out everything we tried. As some of our team is on holiday as well time zones really hindered our progress with some of our members having to quite literally work through the night. I just want to congratulate anyone who has solved it so far and to reassure teams that haven’t that you’re not alone, this is a really difficult brain teaser. I hope that we have an epiphany soon (preferably before anyone else!)
20th December 2025 at 10:47 pm #114725Crackerjack_404Participant@S_D_10Br
Seven hours of elimination is still progress! Your team sounds really committed with the difference in times zones which is awesome! Funny you describe the challenge as a brain teaser, sometimes I’ve found it useful to change the shape of the thinking for a while and do something similar but different like crosswords (especially cryptic crosswords!), sudoku, nonograms… Insight has a habit of turning up unexpectedly. Fingers crossed you get an epiphany soon!
20th December 2025 at 10:49 pm #114727Crackerjack_404Participant@decrypting_donkey
Remember that there is an extended deadline between 23/12–27/12, so you’ve got a bit of extra room to step back and come back fresh! Whether you crack it before then or not, I really hope you have a merry full-of-sleep Christmas!
