Already I have come to dead ends Harry, this is SO HARD, I don’t know where to start anymore!!!
But I’d like to give a friendly reminder of “frequency analysis” to everyone, and inform numbers are not picked up by the tool on the website so using Word to count the characters is a good option.
Good luck to everyone else, and I hope I don’t loose my marbles too much before the cipher is over.

Well… at least it’s gotten us SOMEWHERE.
POV: Waiting days for the first case file to come out for 10B then looking at the most obscure thing I’ve ever seen. Okay, so it’s the image but with the words report on it. AAAAAAARGHHHH I DONT UNDERSTAND. Okay lemme say something helpful; check frequency analysis, and don’t let the cipher eat away your brain cells. i think i know the cipher but like uhm i’m mid failing sooooooo PLEASE MAKE THE NEXT CASEFILE KEYWORD RELATED PLEASEE HARRY. wishing you all a very merry christmas. 😀
p.s. watching television helps trustAt this point I would do anything for an actual hint, although i have sort of made some progress(tho unsure if confirmed)
Another question, has the top spots for the challenge been taken already? Have people finished the challenge already?
Hopefully the Case files will begin to blow back the fog after a while. I am afraid we don’t reveal progress of participants while challenges are live. Keep trying, Harry
I understand what the first step represents but how do into convert that into letters or the next step? We’ve devolved into madness in the past few days with many different methods. Any ideas or is the case file related, even? Good Luck

Harry, after using the right cipher, will there be signs you are on the right track?

It can also help to step back from the mechanics of the cipher and think about the context around it, i.e what can you reasonably infer about the contents of the message itself? Are there certain words or phrases you might expect to appear more often than others? If so- do any recurring character patterns in the ciphertext seem consistent with that hypothesis?
Speaking of frequency analysis – it might help to look at small chunks instead of texts, repeated sequences, overlaps, or similar “shapes” can sometimes tell you more about structure than individual letters on their own. Merry Christmas to you too for when it arrives!
I am going insane I spent 3 days trying to automate playfair just to realise that we aren’t having playfair this time. Furthermore my teamates are playing video games as they figured out that they have no clue what else to do and I am the only one with somewhat any knowledge of coding. I genuanly don’t know what kind of cipher are any of thoose. Initially I thought that the 10A is an autokey, but now I doubt it. Btw is it good that me and my team got so far considering that this is our first expirience of cryptography?

PS, I will also just delay it if it is not OK, sorryI think the CaseFiles 10.2 is definitely much more helpful than the one of last year but to ones that haven’t got a clue what it is talking about, ‘Crib’!
