Begging for help with CF 10.4, can make absolutely no sense of it though I still need to consult my team and have only had a quick scan through it.
Is each character a letter in the plaintext or are they in digraphs?
have no idea if this is correct but is that a kepler triangle and does the 52 mean we have no jokers because a full deck with joker is 54cards not 52 if it is a kepler is it telling us it is enciphered with more than one deck perhaps 3 or talking about different orientations of the deck…
Will the ciphers always be ciphers Dickens and Babbage could have reasonably used or created in the 1860s, or might there be some more modern creations there? This is killing us!!

Is it just me, or does something about that 10 of diamonds in CF 10.4 feel… slightly oddly distributed?

Patterns in red and black seem to be random-or does that give too much away?
The case file has just told us what we already know…
Harry. My head hurts. I have had about 6 hours of sleep… in the last 3 days. This cipher is stuck in my brain. Every case file has given information I already knew. I have a whole .txt file on my computer of notes and none of them are getting me anywhere. I have made 7 different simulated annealers with different strategies each – I’ve even fine tuned the parameters on each. I can’t get them to work. I know there is an extended deadline across Christmas, will that make me rest and enjoy Christmas with a clear mind – no. Anybody who has solved it, stop stealing my braincells – they’re vacating my head and entering yours. Merry sleepless Christmas!
Do try to enjoy the holidays! The Elves will be resting from 25th on (for obvious reasons), so you should try to relax a bit too! Perhaps the Case Files after Christmas will be more helpful. Harry
Thanks to Andrew Johnson and CF 10.4 will I finally get some quality sleep back.
I’m definitely confused about the layout of this cipher as some groupings of letters are a bit wrong, so in that sense I’m not sure about the orientation of the deck. I feel like I might (???) know what cipher it is but who knows…
Ok, so I know this is probably either gonna be binned or held onto until later moderation wise, but I figured out last night that there is 52 combinations of numbers and letters and that it’s always one of A, 2-9, X, J, Q or K followed by C, D, H or S. Which definitely implies a deck of cards without jokers in. However I don’t know what order they need to be put in to decipher it, it could be the order I mentioned earlier or could be that but reversed, or even with Ace coming after King. And the suits could be CDHS, which is alphabetical, or SHDC, which is how they typically come in a deck of cards.
Either way, after that it’s not done and I can’t figure out what the second cipher I need could be!
Just a thought about the cipher to people who have no idea what is going on (I might be wrong), I’ve done frequency analysis of the letters and numbers which gave me some clues on what the cipher might be.(Try to do it yourself) It is also an even number of letters/numbers.
I’ll give a hint, it’s something to do with playing cards, look at the digrams closely…

I’m working with my genius friend who figured out it might have something to do with playing cards, just in case that helps anyone (I know you’re probably going to delay this hint Harry) we have tested this theory yet so I am so sorry if this causes anyone to mess up, I’m just brain dumping and hoping it helps others out.
Harry even though i have only spoken to ypu for a whole 3 months i have got you a christmas present it is my suffering on not being able to do 10b and that i think this thing has something against me the playing cards are just taunting me at this point your welcome Harry
