Has anyone got anywhere with the coin puzzle? I don’t even fully understand what it is saying!

Sounds like a cry for help AND an invitation to retell the story in your own words. Surely a challenge for many of you to take up? Jodie

I gave my answer on Sunday in the forum when I posted my puzzle, have you tried it? I’m working on another harder one, coming soon.

Sunday puzzle: Seems like the troll is licking his lips over you! I wonder if you told it that you are deaf, would he let you walk out?
Otherwise you need to use some flippin’ logic sometime time. (cryptic pun meaningfully intended)

Last Sundays Troll puzzle — So I got it right did anyone else?
Here is what I posted (of course it was not going to be put up):

First part of story then
===================== THE STORY CONTINUED = MY VERSION . . .
After what seemed like an eternity, not becuase of my trying to figure it out but
because of the stupid amount of coins, I said “Hey ugly, you can put the light on now
and start inspecting ’em its getting late” He grabbed hold of me and I thought I was
in for a beating, turned out he was making sure I didn’t run off while he examined the
piles. To my relieve the troll kept his word and let me go, I scurried out calling
back “Tell your next victim that there is an even amount of coins you loser”.
I wondered if I should return later with a friend a powerful searchlight, a shotgun and a wheelbarrow. Would you?

Short Answer without proof:
Split the coins into two equal piles and flip all the coins in one pile.
Solution can be done in darkness, and without guessing.

That last statement I made on my exit was to help the next victim but it is implied in
the narative where it says; Half with the gold sides grinning at me. Just saying.
