For those so close but struggling with 9B,it’s worth remembering that those trying to hide secret messages by encryption maybe aren’t playing fair by the rules. Look at and question every assumption you’ve made (even those you might not realise you have made).

    Yes, indeed!

Only got it today sadly, it took long enough…, although decrypting the Playfair cipher by hand (or rather, using Google Docs’ “find and replace”) certainly helped me catch out the subtle twist in the cipher!

PS: on the plus side, our “rival” team in school hasn’t solved it yet!

Will the error check be turned on today (Wednesday) ?

I had to be absent for 5 days and yesterday (Tuesday 16/12)
    I decoded 9B however I would only get a score of 99%

I am failing to see any error in my decrypt.
    I have :
1502 letters in my plaintext (same count as ciphertext)
20 X’s are the in ciphertext
21 x’s in my plaintext, the last one at the end,
removing that or any one x will make the letter count (1501) wrong.

Yes, we have just switched on the feedback and are posting a news item about that. Good luck hunting the mistake! Harry

    Thanks Harry,
I had one incorrect letter on the end of a word, was blind to it,
I’ll not make a very good proof reader!
